Social Media

This year in Social media I learned quite a lot! I loved learning all about the fun tools that are out their to use. I knew Google was a great resource page but I had no idea about all the different tools that it has for you! I loved to learn about Blogger and how it works. The Meez characters was an absolute blast! Creating your own character, making them look and be like you was pretty awesome! I was glad to hear about all the Internet Safety tips as well. It's good to know that their are safe ways to be on the internet and still have fun. I hope to continue this class next year! Thank you Mrs. James for a great semester!

Docs!

Docs is a tool that Google has. It's such a great tool that allows one to create a Document, Form, Presentation, Drawings, Spreadsheets, and it allows one to create a folder to hold specific items. You can email your documents by attaching them to an email. You can upload your pictures from your computer to add to the drawing or document or presentation etc. This comes in handy if one is at home and needs to quickly make a presentation for school, work etc. I know that I will definitely be using this gadget a lot because at home I am not able to access programs like Word, and Paiges. Now I can use Google's application Docs. Try this its great! Click Here!

Blog This!

BlogThis is a great tool!! Its such an easy shortcut. This tool allows one to click on a link that pops open a window that links the page that your currently on. You can blog about it and then it goes directly to the blog. A downer to this shortcut is that it doesn't allow you to upload a photo on that window. You can change it when you log back on to your original blog. This is a great easy and quick tool. Want to try it?

BibMe

BibMe is a website that allows one to type in a title of a book and it gives you all the normal information about it. It resources it mainly. The site lets you see the year of being published, author, where it was published etc. This is a great site that will save you tons and tons of time!

Blogg From Your Phone!

You can now Blog the quick easy way! Blogging from your phone is a great quick way to blog about something that  is happening at the current time. This even lets you send a picture from your phone straight to your blog. Want to check it out Click Here.

Email Post

This post is from my email account. You can also send pictures as well!

Blogger now lets you send an email and it will appear on your blog as a new post. You can send pictures too! It's just like emailing a friend but it goes straight to your blog. Want to try this?
Just go to your blog and under settings you'll find the button that says email and mobile. Click it and then follow the directions!

Firefox Personas

Firefox Personas are a very unique add on that you can put as your background picture of your heading.
Firefox has many different options for you to choose from. They can even be animated! I'm so glad that this is there for us to use, it really makes your heading bright and cheerful! I love them!

Igoogle!

Igoogle is fantastic! This allows you to have a theme and make this your Google homepage. A person would have the oppertunity to have a lot of different gadgets. There are so many different ones to choose. There is music, fish, games, weather, pictures of the day, (of any topic) news, google chat, etc. The list is unlimited. Histats

Histats is such a useful tool to use. This allows one to track their visitors on their blog. You can use this on any website! For an example of my Histats just scroll all the way to the bottom of my blog. It lets you see where the people who are visiting your blog are from. Here is an example of how it looks to see where the people are located.

Blogger Gadgets

Blogger Gadgets are so fun!!! They are little icons on the bottom of your blog that do different things. For instance I have a box that gives a countdown to how many days to my birthday. I also have an icon that gives me wisdom and humor quotes. There are so many different types of gadgets out there. You can have the news, pictures of the day, pictures of famous people, and a counter that lets you see how many people have visited your blog that day. I also have a gadget that is connected to my gmail. There is one gadget that allows you to know when you get a notification on Facebook. These gadgets are so handy and very fun to use on your blog.

Stats

Stats is a very interesting and exciting gadget. This gadget allows you to look at who all views your blog, or visits your page. You can see when the visited it like the month, year, or even day. Currently I have 20 people from the US who have visited my blog. I think this a such a great way to see who visits your blog and where they are from. People all over the country could visit it! Can you say awesome?!:)

Word Clouds

Word Clouds are so very cool. This is a tool that allows you to type in a bunch of words, a poem, a list, etc. When you type all of this in then it will rearrange it and show you which of the words you used the most. It is really fun, and very eduactional. On Tagxedo it allows you to put your choice of words in and then it rearranges them and can form a picture. It is really awesome! This allows you to learn and have fun while using it! My favorite one is Image Chef because you can add pictures and shapes and its quick and easy! Check some of these websites out: Wordle. My Meez Room

This application on Meez is very exciting. It is a very cool application on this website. It allows your meez to have there own personal room. You can let others see your room, or just your friends. You can choose from different options of which color of walls, chairs, floor etc. It does cost you coins however but it is well worth it. This is a very exciting application. BuddyMarks

This is a online bookmarking site! It allows you to store all your online bookmarks. You can import the bookmarks you already have with a click of a button. It lets you tag a bookmark that you want to keep! Its a quick way to search for something you like and tag it. If you want to give it a try click here.

Diigo!

Diigo is a social bookmarking website. It lets you share information with your friends. This website has some new advantages too! It allows one to highlight something and then it saves it and saves the URL which will allow you to get to that website. It also has a tool called "sticky notes". This allows one to make a note about that tag. It is a very useful site. If you want to explore this site and give it a try

This is a Social Bookmarking site that allows you to tag any site website that you enjoy and would like to share with others. This website helps you manage all your favorite sites that you like to access in a more easier and quicker way! Delicious

Delicious is a wonderful tool that helps you get to your favorite websites in a quicker way! It allows you to tag any website that you like and use it as a bookmark. It a great way to show your family and friends what websites you love to be on and show them exciting things. Its a great tool!
Social bookmarking is how you can share websites and get to websites much faster then typing in the URL. Its an amazing helpful tool!!

This is a very cute and fun website. What you are able to do on this site is: choose a picture they provide, or upload on of anything that you want. It can be an animal, a baby, a person, etc. Then you can have them say anything u choose. You are able to send this to a site, your phone, and even to a friend. This is such a fun site and a great way to get a smile. :)

The animated text was a very cool tool! You can put this on any website you want. It allows you to type in a text and then animate it! You can have a colorful, animated back round or even just leave it plain. Its a great way to draw attention to your blog, or any other website you like. Try it!! ..its fun:)

MEEZ: Avatar

The Meez is awesome!!!! It is super fun! They have people that can represent you and its free to create an account. They have actions and amazing styles that you can dress them up as. They have tons of different options. You can play games to win "money" to buy more stuff! Its a great way to spend some free time. Its great!

Voki is a great tool that allows you to use a character that allows you show people about you, or a false identity.

It is such a fun and unique way to give information or even to just catch a persons attention. There are so many awesome things to do with this gadget. You can create a character and you have many options to do it. You can change there face, hair, clothes, skin, makeup, lips, eyes, etc. You even have the option of using your voice because you can make it say anything you want. This is such a fun tool.

How I'm using Social Media

When I'm online I do a number of things. First I usually check my Facebook and my email. Then since i do not have cable I usually watch my favorite tv shows. I sometimes search poems too. 

I currently use social media in tons of ways. I upload pictures all the time on Facebook. I also edit them too using Picnik.

I want to learn multiple things in this class. I want to learn about blogging and how to go on the internet safely. I also want to know how to use shortcuts on the internet as well.
